Submission deadline not consistent - when is project due?

The Devpost page says submission is at 5pm EST (I'm on EST). The latest REDACTED newsletter #9 in our email said 11:30pm EST, and the same newsltetter viewed on Devpost's "Updates'" tab says 11:30pm UTC (which is 6:30pm EST, not 5pm).

    Hello, apologies for the inconsistency. There was a mixup with the timezone settings and recent time changes. We have updated things to be consistent all around. The submission deadline is October 31, 2024, at 5 PM EST/9 PM UTC.

    wow, mistakes are ok, but moving deadlines BACK is REALLY unexpected. We messed everything because we supposed, that extra 5 hours would allow us to add needed feature.

    actually, extra day or so would be VERY-VERY cool, pretty sure that most hackathon participans will agree and judges will enjoy projects with less bugs :)

    Unfortunately, an extra day would not be possible, as judging will immediately commence after the submission deadline. We extended the deadline from October 25th to 31st, adding nearly an additional week for project refinements and features.

    fair enough. but 5 hours back and forward was really unexpected. Would be cool to at least move it 5 hours later (as it was). Pretty sure that a lot of participants will miss deadline because of that.

    Agreed - I got the Digest #9 email which said 11:30pm EST (Devpost also had changed to that time) so I planned the submission based on that. I randomly checked the Devpost just now and it changed back to 5:00pm EST.

    Given it was a mistake on the hackathon side, sticking to what it said in the Digest #9 email would be helpful, others likely still think it's 11:30pm EST.

    Also we were never informed that the time had change back to 5pm EST - that alert just went out after I posted this. If people weren't checking the Devpost page we wouldn't have known anything had changed :/

    After discussing it with the [R] team, the deadline has been extended to Oct 31, 2024, 11:45 PM EST / Nov 1, 2024, 03:45 AM UTC. I hope it helps.

    its quite really confusing to know the exact time for hack. Its keep changing the whole time. And its kinda closed and i missed the submission time.
